Read a story about a woman who baked bread for her family and always keep an extra one for a hungry passerby. She decided to be putting that extra bread on the window sill for whoever would take it away.
Every day, a hunch-back man came and took away the bread, as he went, he would mutter these words “the evil you do remains with you; the good you do, comes back to you!”. This went on day after day.
This started making the woman feel irritated and started saying instead of gratitude, he keeps on saying that? After a favour, all you have to do is mutter some nonsense. She now decided to hurt this man, so as to teach him a lesson.
She decided to poison the bread for the hunch back man and as she was about to place it on the window sill, then something struck her in her heart that made it change her mind.
Then immediately threw the bread into the fire, then prepared another one and place it on the window sill. The hunch back came and picked the bread, then utter the same word “the evil you do remains with you; the good you do comes back to you”.
That evening, there was a knock on the door, when she opened, she was surprised to see her son, after a long time and have prayed day and night for his return. He stood in his torn and tattered garments looking hungry and tired.
Then he told his mum, it’s a miracle am here. While I was just a mile away, I was so hungry that I collapsed. I would have died but just then, an old hunch-back passed by. I begged him for a small part of his food, and he was kind enough to give me whole bread.
As the mother heard those words, her face turned pale and red and then leaned against the door for support. She was dazzled; she could have poisoned her son through that bread.
You don’t throw a stone in the marketplace because you might end up hitting one of your own.
Newt Gingrich said, “perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did”. Don’t grow weary in doing what is right. The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking places.
